Sons of Antioch Choir
Sons of Antioch is an Orthodox Christian choir which specializes in the Psaltic art, an art more commonly known as Byzantine music.

Our choir began on November 5th, 2021 when a group of young men gathered at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA to celebrate a vigil for our Father among the Saints, Raphael of Brooklyn. We were brought together from across the United States through our love of Orthodox theology, and by extension, our zeal to share that theology through the hymnography of the holy church. We offered our jubilant yet humble praise to the Lord, and though we were unaware at the time, this was the day the Sons of Antioch Byzantine Choir was born.

We are a primarily English-language choir that emphasizes our Arabic-speaking roots (and Greek to a lesser extent). Our ethos is distinctly Antiochian, and therefore unique in North America. The Ancient Christian See of Antioch has a living and flourishing tradition with a strong legacy of cultural diversity. Keeping this legacy alive by building bridges of community and respect is something we value greatly. Our choir has taken on St. Raphael of Brooklyn as our patron saint for many reasons, but mainly for his rich cultural background. St. Raphael is the perfect representation of what it means to be Antiochian in America, and we strive to follow his example as we pursue this ministry.

Since our inception, we have been called upon for Orthodox Christian rites and services, as well as performed in numerous concerts. With the blessing of His Eminence, SABA, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America, the choir has become widely acclaimed and active in the pursuit of prayerfully offering traditional ecclesiastical music at a high level for the edification of people everywhere.
