Patrick Haddad
Director
Patrick Haddad is a Byzantine chanter, teacher, and composer. Born in Ain Dara, Lebanon, he moved to the United States in 2019 and currently serves as the Protopsaltis and Director of Music Ministries at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA.
He studied Byzantine music at the School of Ecclesiastic Music of Mount Lebanon (SEM), with his teacher Roy Sahakian, among many other distinguished teachers. He later earned a diploma in Byzantine music from the Hellenic Conservatory of Athens. At a young age, he was appointed Protopsaltis of his hometown church in Ain Dara.
Patrick was a member of both the SEM men's choir and the Theotokos Choir of Beirut, where he gained hands-on experience in choir leadership, ensemble coordination, and the intricacies and dynamics of Byzantine choirs. This foundation equipped him with the skills to lead and direct a choir, which he later applied as director of the Sons of Antioch.
Patrick also teaches Byzantine chant at St. Nicholas Cathedral and offers private lessons. As a composer, his output includes numerous hymns for various services and feast days.
